    2/7th Field Regiment Memorial

The 2/7th Australian Field Regiment Memorial, presented by the 2/7th Australian Field Regiment Association (Western Australia Branch), is situated in Birdwood Reserve, Dalkeith, overlooking Perth’s Swan River. It is made-up of a 25 pounder Field Gun and, to its left, a Dedication Plaque. The Memorial stands as a tribute to all who served in the Regiment and in remembrance of all Australian Gunners who made the supreme sacrifice in the cause of freedom.

The British 25 pounder QF (Quick Firing) Gun was introduced into service, with the Royal Australian Artillery, in 1940 and was withdrawn in 1973. The Gun was deployed, with Australian Gunners, in the Middle East, Greece, Malaya, New Guinea, Borneo and the Pacific islands (the Guns’ muzzle break was not a part of the equipment until 1962).
