Artillery Memorials

Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery

    101 Field Battery

The 101st Field Battery Memorial is located within the 8th/12th Regiment’s Ypres Lines, at Darwin’s Robertson Barracks. The Memorial is dedicated to the memory of those who have served in the Battery, both within Australia and on its operations in Malaya, South Vietnam, Cambodia, the Sinai, Timor-Leste, the Sudan, the Solomon Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Memorial is a stone rock, obtained from within the local area, bearing a sculpture of Mjollnir (Thor’s Hammer), incorporating the wording Mjollnir (‘to crush from the sky’) and 101st Field Battery, and three plaques; one listing the Memorial’s dedication and another explaining its presentation.

The Memorial was presented to the Battery in 2007, at the time 101st Medium Battery, by its then serving officers and other ranks, who are listed on the third plaque.
