    Detachment 131st Divisional Locating Battery

The Detachment, 131st Divisional Locating Battery Memorial is located within Brisbane’s Enoggera Barracks, across from the 20th Surveillance and Target Acquisition Regiment Headquarters, and is dedicated to the Battery’s Gunners who served, and those who gave their lives, in the Vietnam War.

The Memorial consists of an AN/KPQ1 Mortar Locating Radar, one of the equipments which were used during the Vietnam War, on a concrete pad with interlocking bricks; the bricks represent the sandbags which protected the radar positions. Incorporated into the surrounding bricks is a bronze plaque listing the names of those that served within the Detachment during the War and between the Memorial’s main plaque and the Radar piece there is a small plaque, on a plinth, which was presented by the Locating Association.

On three sides of the Memorial, mounted on rails, are acrylic storyboards with relevant information and photos of the Detachment during the War.
