Joint Fires Branch provides technical advice on all Joint Fires capabilities in order to support Operations Generation, Force Generation & Joint Fires capability development with Forces Command.
Joint Fires Branch was established at Victoria Barracks – Sydney on 18 Jan 2009 in order to provide advocacy for RAA capabilities within 6 BDE. The scope of Joint Fires Branch has since been expanded to provide advocacy for all RAA capabilities within Forces Command.
Directorate of Army Air Support (DAAS)
On 16 Jan 2012, 1 Ground Liaison Group was dis-established and the DAAS was created as a sub function of Joint Fires Branch. DAAS is responsible for management of Army's joint service air support requirements in order to synchronise air/land operational and training effects with Army's requirements |
