Description: Using the battle of Neuve Chapelle on the Western Front and the August offensive at Gallipoli as case studies, this examines the British approach to offensive warfare in 1915, with a particular emphasis on the role that artillery was meant to perform, and to what extent the artillery factored into operational planning.
