Warrant Officer Class One Ian D. Biggs was born in Winchester England 15 April 1960 and immigrated to Australia in 1965.

He joined the Army one month after his 17th Birthday on 17 May 1977 and post recruit training was allocated to the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery. He discharged on 15 August 2003 after completing 26 years and three months’ service. Post discharge, he moved to Brisbane in 2006 where he currently lives with his wife and two boys.
