WHERE RIGHT AND GLORY LEAD

On the Royal Australian Artillery Badge is the Regiment’s Motto, QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT, in the scrolls below the Gun, and translates to ‘Where Right and Glory Lead’. The Motto directly calls upon Gunners to do their best as professional soldiers.

Here, ‘Right’ infers being righteous - not only in bringing battle, but equally righteous during battle. ‘Glory’ then implies praiseworthy behaviour, and not an idolisation of war. Finally, ‘Lead’ encourages every Gunner to set these honourable examples to all their comrades in arms.

This series of short stories presents Australian Gunners throughout history truly living up to ‘Where Right and Glory Lead’.
