Sergeant Peter Rainsbury was born in Carlton Victoria and served with the RAA. Pete was a Sergeant with 104th Battery, 12th Field Regiment, 1968-69 Tour. Unfortunately, having arrived in June 1968 he became ill and returned to Australia in July 1968. A Corps transfer to the RAAOC (Ordnance) saw him back in Vietnam from March 1971 to March 1972 serving with 2nd Advanced Ordnance Depot.
Pete was retired and living in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Alan Jackson saw him on occasion and while Pete’s health was not the best his passing was sudden. The Germs (104th Battery Association) were represented at Pete’s Funeral by Rick and Marie Polley, Alan Jackson and Frank Corcoran. Their attendance was much appreciated by Pete’s widow, children and grandchildren.
