|
Warrant Officer Class One Colin John Maynard passed away on 10 October 2010. Col was born at Boulder, Western Australia on the 8th of June 1929 and was another ‘era bridger’ who began his career as a corporal with 3 RAR in Korea 1953-54, was a bombardier with 105th Field Battery in Malaya 1957, and a Battery Guide (BG) with 108th Field Battery in Vietnam 1967-68.
He then became the Battery Sergeant Major (BSM) of A Field Battery before taking up two appointments with Reserve units in Sydney – Cadre BSM with 23rd Field Regiment then on promotion Warrant Officer Class One, Regimental Sergeant Major of 7th Field Regiment.
Col took discharge after 28 years service on 16 January 1976. He was highly respected and a true friend to many. People were saddened and shocked by his passing. |
