Terry Served with 105 Field Battery in Vietnam from 14th September 1965 until the 5th June 1966 when he was taken on strength of 1st field Regiment until 24th September 1966. He served as a driver operator and in the latter stages as a member of ‘C’ gun. His period of time on the gun included the Battle of Long Tan during which he was a vital member of the detachment.

A large gathering of hundreds of people attended the funeral, which included relations, friends, ex members of 105 Battery and members of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Association, Chapter 23. Amongst those in attendance were six members of C gun detachment to say farewell – Ian Morley, Jesse James Jnr, Jock Fearon, Jason Neville, Frank Guylus and Ray Chapman.
