Historical Specifics:

This gun was in very poor condition when acquired.  It had been buried in a rubbish pit for about 40 years.  The first individual who attempted to restore the gun was commissioned to make the gun presentable as a park decoration looking like a British Boer War 15pdr.  The project foundered due to the patron going into receivership.  Some of the parts that had been cut off were salvaged but much was lost.  The gun is very incomplete.
