Historical Specifics: |
The Royal Navy recognised the required for a gun for use against aircraft and developed the 3 inch High Angle gun around 1910. it was mounted on the ships of the Royal Navy and eventually on those of the Royal Australian Navy. A number were in store in Sydney in the 1930s and were sent to Darwin but not installed. They were returned to Sydney and at some stage two were employed at Georges Heights, near Mosman, and one emplaced on Fort Denison. |
