Sunday 29th March 1885

On This Day Sunday 29th March 1885, the first few of a total of 204 men of 'A' Battery landed in the Sudan, with the majority arriving on the 31st March 1885, as part of the Australian contingent of a British led force tasked with relieving the siege of Khartoum and rescuing General Gordon. This was the genesis of the proud tradition of UBIQUE QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT in the RAA.
