COLONEL LESLIE T. OLSSON, MBE, RFD, ED, RL

       

His Honour, Mr Justice Leslie Olsson, of the South Australian  Supreme Court, served in a wide variety of Army Reserve appointments prior to his retirement, with the rank of Colonel, in July 1986. A law graduate from Adelaide University in 1953, he practiced  as a Barrister and Solicitor from 1954 until 1963, when he was appointed a Deputy Master of the Supreme Court of SA.

Colonel Olsson has had a variety of leadership based appointments supplementary to his' civil and military careers, including service as the Public Service Arbitrator, Chairman of the Teachers’ Salaries Board, a Deputy Presidency and Presidency of the Industrial Court and Commission, President of the Industrial Relations Society of SA and membership of the Council of Adelaide University and the Board of the INVICTA Sheltered Workshops. He has also had appointments as an ADC to the Governor of South Australia and as an Honorary Military Aide to the Governor General.

For many years the holder of a private pilot’s licence, his hobbies now include power boating, fishing, campervan touring, and woodwork and computer studies. Colonel Olsson was appointed Colonel Commandant of 4 MD in 1983.
