Histroical Specifics:

The British designed 2 pounder anti tank gun was first used by Australian forces in 1939 and was the weapon issued to the anti tank units. They were replaced by the 6 pounder anti tank gun in the anti tank units of the artillery from 1941 but remained in use with the infantry and armoured corps until 1951.

Its effective range against tanks was about 500 m (600 yds). Its effectiveness against tanks was limited in the European theatre as tank armament became thicker. Its effect against the thinly armoured Japanese tanks was not affected. The gun was used in the Middle East, Greece, Malaya, New Guinea and the Islands.

Over 1000 of these guns were issued to the Australian Forces of which 892 were locally made.
